30 Best Football Videos Of The Last Decade

The last few months would have made for an exciting time in the Premier League; Aston Villa would have been hosting Crystal Palace, pre-lockdown title favourites Liverpool would have (probably) been celebrating another win after visiting Brighton and we’d have been mesmerised by the final few weeks of the season.

Here at The One Glove, we have put together a list of the 30 best footballing moments of the past 10 years to keep us in touch with the beautiful game during lockdown – we hope it cheers you up until things get back to normal!

1. Cristiano Ronaldo - Juventus vs Real Madrid 

Juventus vs Real Madrid was always going to be a game to remember, but who could forget the bicycle kick goal made by Cristiano Ronaldo? 

2. Lewandowski’s 5 Goals in 9 Minutes

Back in 2015, Lewandowski went down in football history for his record breaking 5 goals in only 8 minutes and 59 seconds. It was the fastest five goals in Bundesliga history and left everyone including his coach Pep Guardiola completely speechless.

3. Barcelona Beat PSG 6-5 On Aggregate

In 2017, Sergi Roberto scored a 95th minute goal that won Barcelona the tie – still hailed as the greatest Champions League comeback ever against Paris Saint-Germain.

 

4. Messi Scores 91 goals in 2012

Lionel Messi set a new world record for goals scored in a single calendar year and managed to cement his name into footballing history.

 

5. Germany Beat Hosts Brazil 7-1 to Reach World Cup 2014 Final

The host nation Brazil were nailed on favourites to lift the trophy on their home soil, however they fell to Germany who dismantled their victory entirely, causing one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history.

 

6. Aguero Scores Against QPR in the 93rd Minute to Win the League

This clip needs no introduction, the most iconic piece of commentary in Premier League history: Sergio Aguero’s last gasp winner in 2012. The goal that ensured the Premier League title was taken from arch rivals Manchester United and brought home to Man City.

 

7. Leicester Win the League

From escaping almost certain relegation the previous season to achieving the unthinkable, the biggest underdog story in the history of the Premier League that lead to Leicester City lifting the Premier League Trophy in 2016.

8. Spain Win the World Cup in extra time

A fierce battle between two European giants led to one of the greatest World Cup finals ever in 2010. Andreas Iniesta’s extra time strike broke Dutch hearts and brought the trophy home to Spain.

 

9. Barca Win the Treble

The all-conquering Barcelona team of the 2014/15 season achieved an amazing feat in being crowned Domestic Champions. Champion League winners and Copa Del Ray champions, there was no stopping Barcelona this season.

 

10. Bayern Treble

The undefeated German, Bayern Munich, led by Jupp Heynckes, completed the treble in 2012/13. By simultaneously beating their long time nemesis Bundlesliga, winning the Champions League and then grabbing the victory over Stuttgart in the Domestic Cup competition. There just was no stopping Bayern’s dominance.

 

11. Inter Milan Treble

With Jose Mourinho at the helm and with a revolutionary way of playing, Inter Milan were unstoppable this 2009/10 season. The year Mourinho made history by becoming the only manager to win the Champions League with two different teams, putting Inter Milan back on track to dominate the Italian League. 

12. Ibrahimovic Scores an Overhead 30 Yard Bicycle Kick Against England

The Swedish superstar shocked England with what can only be described as an audacious bicycle kick to leave England Goalkeeper, Joe Hart, red faced in 2012. A simply mesmeric goal that only Zlatan Ibrahimovic could’ve scored.

13. James Rodriguez World Cup Goal vs Uruguay 

The chest, turn and volley all in one swift motion was poetry in action as James Rodriguez scored a wonder goal for Columbia in the 2014 World Cup. With such a moment it saw Rodriguez announcing himself onto the world stage in style. 

14. Bale’s Goal in the Copa del Rey final

With the speed of an Olympic sprinter, Gareth Bale’s electric turn of speed left the Barcelona defender embarrassed in what was an absolutely incredible goal in the 2014 Copa Del Rey final.

 

15. Messi in the Copa del Rey Final

This 2015 final could well and truly be known as the Lionel Messi show. From the opening goal, which was simply breathtaking to watch, right until the end, Messi continued calling the shots and giving the Bilbao players nightmares.

 

16. Real Madrid beat Atletico 4-1 in the 2014 Champions League Final

With local pride at stake and with Atletico taking an early lead, Real Madrid rallied their troops and eventually managed to lift their 10th European title. Finishing the game with a 4-1 victory over their local rivals.

 

17. Liverpool Overturn a 3-0 First Leg Deficit Against Barca in 2019

One of the greatest nights at Anfield, with Barcelona leading 3-0 from the first leg, it seemed it was going to be a tie over. However, this wasn’t the case. A brilliant, brave and all-round heroic performance saw Liverpool running out 4-0 winners in the end. 

18. Roma Beat Barca 3-0 in the 2018 Champions League

A remarkable night in AS Roma’s recent history, trailing 1-4 from the first leg they needed a comeback of epic proportions. It was this comeback which Edin Dzeko’s unforgettable goal paved the way for. 

19. Atletico Win Their First La Liga, and the First Title Since 2003/04 Not Won By Barcelona or Real Madrid

A 10 year record was finally broken when Atletico Madrid won the La Liga Championship in 2014, won by only two other teams since 2004, Athletico made it time for a new team to be etched onto the trophy.

20. Real Madrid Win 3 Consecutive Champions League Trophies

Three Champions League victories in a row is something that had never been achieved before until the remarkable team of Real Madrid. Their three year win streak lasted right up until 2018.

21. Barcelona Dominate Real Madrid by Scoring 23 Goals 5 El Classicos

El Classico, a fixture that the whole footballing world stops to watch; the ultimate battle for Spanish pride. Over the course of five games Barcelona dominated and destroyed their ultimate rivals with an aggregate score of 23-5.

22. Messi and Ronaldo Dominate for a Decade

The debate that will go on forever: who is better, Messi or Ronaldo? Both are simply captivating to watch and have dazzled the footballing world for the last 15 years. With a combined 11 Ballon d’Ors they’ve both dominated football over the last decade. 

 

23. Man City Score 106 Goals and Surpass 100 Points to Win the Premier League

A mesmerising, unforgettable season in 2017/28 when Man City achieved a record breaking 100 points that allowed them to bring the Premier League title home to the blues. With 106 goals scored, no defence could stop this City team.

24. Chelsea Beat Bayern in the 2012 UCL On Penalties 

In a historic night in Munich, Chelsea finally brought the win home to England. Due to a cagey encounter, Didier Drogba’s extra penalty secured the Champions League win for the boys in blue. 

25. Rooney’s Overhead Bicycle Kick Goal at the Manchester Derby

A wonder goal that doesn’t need much introduction at all, the greatest goal to ever be scored in a Manchester derby. Rooney’s acrobatic magnificence will be spoken about for years to come.

26. Giovanni van Bronckhorst Scores in a Surprising Dutch Win Over Uruguay, World Cup 2010

The Dutch aren’t shy in scoring wonder goals, but when left back Giovanni Van Bronckhorst rifled a shot into the postage stamp in the 2010 World Cup, it left the Uruguayan goalkeeper grasping at thin air.
