Josh Vickers joined Derby County F.C. in the summer of 2023 after signing from Rotherham United F.C. on a three-year deal.

The goalkeeper played his part in a successful debut season at Pride Park, making 12 appearances and keeping three clean sheets as the Rams secured promotion from EFL League One.

In his second season, Vickers produced a standout display in Derby’s opening home league fixture, helping the side to a 1–0 victory over Middlesbrough F.C.. He was later called upon during the run-in after Jacob Widell Zetterström suffered a concussion, delivering four assured performances for John Eustace’s side.

One of the defining moments of his Derby spell came in a 3–1 win at The Hawthorns against West Bromwich Albion F.C., when he produced a stunning close-range stop to deny Tom Fellows. The save was later voted Derby’s 2024/25 Save of the Season and proved crucial in the club retaining their EFL Championship status.

Vickers began his career with Arsenal F.C. and gained early senior experience on loan at Canvey Island F.C. and Concord Rangers F.C.. A permanent move to Swansea City A.F.C. followed, before he made his EFL debut on loan with Barnet F.C..

He established himself at Lincoln City F.C., helping the club win the League Two title in 2018/19, before moving to Rotherham United where he was part of their League One promotion-winning squad in 2021/22 and their EFL Trophysuccess.
